A Sectoral e-Business Observatory

As the adoption of information technologies and the maturity of their application increases across sectors and regions, a new picture of the digital economy is beginning to emerge: IT and electronic business do matter - perhaps more than ever.

In 2003/04, the e-Business W@tch monitors the adoption of electronic business practices in 10 sectors of the European economy. The analysis is based on sound empirical research, including annual enterprise surveys in all countries of the enlarged European Union. Special emphasis is placed on the implications for SMEs.

Launched in 2002 as a market observatory, the e-Business W@tch has developed into a think-tank and intermediary, stimulating the debate of economic and policy implications of e-business among stakeholders on international level.
